Estimator - Civil Engineering

Job Description: Working within the Estimating Department in Paisley processing tenders from receipt to submission (up to £5m in value), the successful candidate may at present be working either as an Estimator and looking for advancement or an experienced Civil Engineer seeking a career change. Qualified to HNC/HND/Degree level in civil engineering, you should be capable of working to strict deadlines, working on your own initiative, using analytical methods for rate build-ups and using computer estimating packages. Hours are 8-5.30 Mon-Thurs, 8-4.00 Fri and salary is dependent on age and experience. Benefits include company car, contributory pension scheme, 25 days annual holiday + 8 statutory, private healthcare (after 3 years service), flexible benefits scheme (after 3 months service). A current clean driving licence is essential.

Project Manager / Site Agent

Job Description: Working on one of our sites in Central Scotland on projects up to £5m in value and reporting to the Contracts Manager, the successful candidate should be qualified to HNC/HND/Degree level in civil engineering and have suitable relevant experience. The main responsibilities will include:

● Manage and optimise construction programme ● Manage and minimise construction costs ● Foster and maintain good working relationship with client and client representatives ● Lead Safety Management on site for all activities, suppliers and subcontractors ● Provide timely and accurate reports, forecasts and budgets for internal purposes ● Lead, motivate and monitor site team and develop strategy as required ● Manage supply chain ● Support all business objectives

The key attributes we are seeking include:

● Site construction experience including site management ● Experience in working in a variety of civil engineering sectors including roads/highways ● Knowledge of safety and environmental legislation ● IT skills ● Positive and proactive approach to problem solving

A basic 42 hour working week is expected with salary dependent on experience. Benefits include company car, contributory pension scheme, 25 days annual holiday + 8 statutory, private health care (after 3 years service), flexible benefits scheme (after 3 months service). A current clean driving licence is essential.

Section Engineer

Job Title: Section Engineer
Job Description: Working on one of our sites in Central Scotland on projects up to £5m in value and reporting to the Site Agent/Sub Agent, the successful candidate should be qualified to HNC/HND/Degree level in civil engineering and have suitable relevant experience. Main responsibilities include:

● Ensure works are constructed in accordance with contract drawings, specification and Project Execution Plan ● Produce and review construction method statements, ensuring works are constructed efficiently and safely ● Plan and programme section of the works, producing or reviewing construction method statements ● Assist in management of costs and budgets and measuring of works for valuations ● Be familiar with and apply procedures and processes detailed in project Health, Safety & Environmental plans and promote a safe working culture ● Ensure the section of work is undertaken safety and in accordance with Health, Safety & Environmental legislation and site HS&E plans. Prepare and review risk assessments ● Anticipate and resolve problems, in particular related to engineering issues ● Work with design consultants to resolve technical problems and queries that arise during course of the work ● Manage construction records, O&M manuals and 'as built' drawings
